PLAYER UPDATES: Kings XI Punjab are the only unbeaten team in the League so far and have taken the top spot on the points table with a marginally better net runrate. Kings XI batted second in both their fixtures and chased down the set target with ease. A certain Glenn Maxwell was instrumental in both pursuits; the Australian dasher absolutely obliterated the bowling attacks.
For, the Knight Riders, Chris Lynn hurt his shoulder in an attempt to complete a catch, running backwards. The Australian was in supreme form and his unavailability for the rest of the tournament can dampen the Knight Riders’ chances of a third title. Shakib Al Hasan though has already joined the legion and is likely to feature in their upcoming fixture.
TEAM COMBINATION: The skipper Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa are likely to join forces yet again. Their synergy at the top of the order will lay the foundation for the batsmen to follow. Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan and SuryaKumar Yadav form a sprightly middle order, with the herculean Yusuf Pathan and a probable addition, Colin de Grandhomme complete the top 7. The newly laid Eden Garden turf is likely to assist the seamers and the inclusion of an extra speedster is a high possibility. After being sidelined for the first two games carrying a niggle, Indian pacer Umesh Yadav might open his account in the 10th edition.
The Kings XI on the other hand wouldn’t want to change the team’s composition. While the Indian pacers in the other franchises have struggled to make a mark, the pacers from the Kings XI squad have been pleasing to watch. The team’s batting line-up hasn’t been tested yet. Axar Patel was sent up the order as a dasher, to up the anti, but with genuine clean hitters in the squad, normalcy might prevail.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
Robin Uthappa has been a consistent run-getter for the Knight Riders. The moving ball has always got the better of most batsman, but the Karnataka lad has a sound technique- to negotiate the swing initially and has the ability to tonk the ball around once he sets his eye in. 3394 runs in 136 games with a strike rate of 128.65 clearly indicates how perfectly he paces his innings and he’ll likely be the game changer.
Hashim Amla is undoubtedly one of the finest batsmen of the modern era. The “Mighty Hash” as he’s famously addressed, isn’t mighty in stature but is certainly a cricketing giant. He makes batting look ridiculously easy and is dextrous enough to pierce the most jam-packed fields. His hitting prowess was at it’s maximum grandeur and he did construct a beautiful 58* off 38 in his previous outing. Amla is not only the player to watch out for, against the Knight Riders but he’s a prime contender for the orange cap.

KKR vs KXIP Match Prediction
The stats have a propensity towards the Knight Riders; In the last seven fixtures, the Knight Riders have never tasted defeat. At home, they lead by a huge 6-2 margin. If stats were considered Knight Riders would have been the default choice, but the Kings XI are all geared up for the 10th edition and have done some really good home work in attaining quality Indian brilliance, especially in the bowling department. With Kings XI seeming the more balanced unit out of the two, it’s advantage KINGS XI.
